Mold Storage & Maintenance

• Cleaning: After each production cycle, molds are cleaned to remove any residual material, debris, or contaminants. This prevents defects in future products.

   

• Inspection: Molds are regularly inspected for wear, cracks, or damage. Areas of concern include mold surfaces, vents, seals, and hinges, which can affect part quality.

   

• Lubrication: Hinges, clamps, and other moving parts are lubricated to ensure smooth operation during mold rotation and closure.

   

• Surface treatment: Mold surfaces are polished or coated to prevent sticking of the plastic material and ensure smooth product release. In some cases, releasing agents are applied.

   

• Repair and refurbishment: Damaged molds are repaired by welding or reshaping, and if wear is excessive, molds may be refurbished or replaced.

   

• Storage: Molds are stored in a clean, dry environment to prevent corrosion, and protective coverings are used to avoid damage during downtime.
